THE SHOWS

From very personal visits for small groups, to large scale events, Movie Horses NZ welcomes you to enjoy a unique and memorable experience. Movie Horses NZ shows are entertaining and informative displays that showcase some of the original equine cast from The Lord of the Rings.  Our team of riders are experienced horse trainers who take pride in presenting a professional and safe display.

We are based on the Kapiti Coast where we offer shows for groups of all sizes. Movie Horses NZ can also perform at private or public functions anywhere in New Zealand.

INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL GROUPS

Movie Horses NZ offers LOTR fans the unique opportunity to meet several of the Hero horses and talk one on one with LOTR crew members. This provides the chance to ask questions and learn about life on set. Guests get to know the horses and crew on a more personal level and are welcome to have their photo taken with the horses.

We have standard packages available ranging from the 'Exclusive Experience' that lasts up to two hours and includes (among other things) a live performance, a cart ride, free gift and refreshments, right through to a Condensed Experience for those with limited time and resources. Movie Horses NZ is also happy to tailor an experience to suit your needs.

LARGE GROUPS

A wide variety of shows are available to large groups, depending on numbers, budget and location.

The deluxe show involves eight horses and riders. It features eight acts including sword fighting, stunt work, an insight into how movie horses are trained and choreographed routines by hero horses.

The Movie Horses NZ team works hard at making our performances fun and try to give our visitors an insight into equine work on movie sets. We aim to bring alive the magic of the LOTR for our guests.

Upon request we can arrange for special guest appearances from local cast and crew of the Movie Trilogy. After the shows visitors will have a chance to meet with the riders and share snippets of on set experiences and training.

THE LOCATIONS

Movie Horses NZ is based on the beautiful Kapiti Coast, one hour north of Wellington. Small groups are hosted at a private location and venues for large groups are by arrangement.

The team of Movie Horses NZ is also able to perform with their horses anywhere else in the country.

If you wish to enjoy a day or two on the Kapiti Coast there are plenty of scenic locations and interesting attractions to visit. We are also able to recommend local accomodation to suit your needs.
